A SUM of $3,465 made available to Rappahannock County through the federal Emergency Job Hiring program, was turned down by the Board of Supervisors last Thursday.
H.B. Wood expressed a concern that such a fund might be available for “a year or two, and then the federal government would drop it and we’d have to take it up.”
Chairman Pete Luke worried that the county budget had no provision for administering such a fund.
