RAPPAHANNOCK’S planners are still trying to work out a compromise between the request of the J.L. Williams’s heirs and the requirements of the county subdivision and zoning ordinances. The Supervisors have asked that the planners meet with the attorney for the Williams heirs and the Commonwealth’s Attorney to work out a compromise. But much to the planners consternation, Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis wasn’t at the Planning Commission meeting Wednesday night, August 20, and the Planning Commissioners didn’t want to draft and approve a compromise without the advice of their attorney.
Nevertheless, the planners listened as T.C. Lea, attorney for the Williams heirs, and the Williamses themselves repeated much of what had been said six days before at a public hearing before the Supervisors. The Williams heirs
