FOUR educators from Rappahannock County joined approximately 400 other teachers and administrators from across the state in an annual teaching conference in Charlottesville, from August 11 to 15.
Sponsored by the Albemarle County Public Schools and Science Research Associates, the conference on teaching basic skills was attended by the following elementary teachers from Rappahannock County Elementary School in Sperryville: Beatrice B. Austin, Dorothy C. Butler and Sallie Stauffer.
The staff of the sixth annual conference on the SRA DISTAR Reading, Language and Arithmetic programs included two co-authors of the DISTAR Instructional System, Jean Osborn and Elaine Bruner from Illinois.
