gained 4.07 and 4.00 pounds per day on 140 day feed test, which makes them the first bulls to gain 4 pounds or better per day in the 18 year history of performance testing conducted by the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association. The two record setting bulls are both 3/4blood Sim mental and are among some of the first of the Simmental breed to be tested in Virginia.
The Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association has successfully operated central station bull testing programs for 18 years as a service to its members and the beef industry. The testing is under the direction and supervision of the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association and V. P. I. The two basic objectives are to test the top end of the bull calf crop under standard conditions for the purebred breeders benefit and to offer for sale the top end of the tested bulls for the improvement of other herds.
These two record setting bulls, along with Angus, Hereford and Charolais bulls will be sold at public auction on Saturday, January 31, at the annual VA. B. C. I. A. performance tested bull sale at the Red House Bull Evaluation Center near Red House.
