I FAVOR a 90-day regular session every other year in the evennumbered years, which would give the General Assembly more time for consideration of legislation. I believe that this would be more efficient than a 60-day session in one year and a shorter session in the next year and I believe it would be just as efficient as a 60-day session each year. It is practically inevitable that it will always take a certain amount of time at the beginning of the session to schedule committee hearings and meetings to review and consider a large volume of legislation, particularly the major and complex proposals. Once this process gets underway, it is more efficient to extend the session to complete as much work as possible.
