dedication, orderly work and prevading affability have in great part helped to bring about more than 100% increase in book circulation, considerable new activity in young adult and children’s reading, and the repeated successes of the yearly book review contests. She has also supervised getting sound and movie equipment in operation with very able Marion Kuhn. The library has benefitted and grown well during Ruth Blackwell’s tenure. They have been outstanding years.
Mrs. Hufstedler was familiar with some of Miss Blackwell’s work because of the volunteer hours she had generously given to the Library since moving into the county. Also her vast library experience has familiarized hgr with the standardized library practices used in our library.
OVER 30 Rappahannock residents had answered the advertisement for librarian carried in two December issues of the Rappahannock News. “It was gratifying to know how many alert, able and nice people considered the Library a good place to work. Their applications were appreciated and their names have been kept in the Library files.
