THE Rappahannock Lions Club is searching for a young county resident to participate in the Lions International Youth Exchange program. A scholarship of $400 will be donated by the local club to help defray travel expenses of the young man or woman, according to Captain H.W. Holschuh, Lions Youth Exchange chairman.
“During each of the past two years, the Rappahannock Lions Club has hosted an exchange student from Finland. This summer, one of our local youths could spend five weeks in the home of a Lions Club host family in Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland, or some other host country in Europe,” said Holschuh.
“About 50 young people from the state of Virginia participate in the
program each year. This year, the group will leave in mid-July and will fly together to Paris. From there, they will go by train to their destinations,” he said.
