AVFD elects
Officers chosen for the following year by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad included Paul Poling, president; Braxton James, vice president; Charlie Compton, treasurer; Russell Pullen, chief and Levi Atkins, assistant chief, all reelected to the fire unit. Stan Settle was newly elected as first lieutenant and Donald James was re-elected second lieutenant.
Serving a first term will be Arthur Pullen as secretary and Carl James, captain, for the fire company.
In the rescue squad Bobby Carter was re-elected captain and directors named were Arthur Brown and Gilbert Lawrence.□
