Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight sata peau and chantilly lace fashioned with a high neckline, long full sleeves and an empire bodice enriched with lace accented with pearls. The A-line skirt flowed into a chapel length train which was appliqued in lace. She carried yellow sweetheart roses with daisies and baby’s breath.
Miss Nancy Cargill, sister of the bridegroom, served as honor attendant. She wore a long gown of yellow floral sheer and carried a spray of melon tinted Shasta daisies.
Bridesmaids were Miss Lisa Saunders, Mrs. George W. Loyd, Jr. and Miss Dreama Taylor, all of Bedford. They wore gowns identical to that of the honor attendant and carried sprays of yellow tinted Shasta daisies.
John G. Cargill, Jr. served as his son’s best man. Ushers were William Lea Cargill, James Peyton Cargill, both brothers of the bridegroom, George W. Loyd, Jr. of Bedford, Randall K. Falls of Forest and Matthew A. Simpson of Livingston, New Jersey.
The bride’s parents entertained at a reception at Bedford Country Club following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. W. Raymond Minnix greeted guests at the door.
The bride received B. S. degree in Medical Technology for the Medical College of Virginia. She will be on the staff at the University of Virginia Hospital in the Immunohematology laboratory. The bridegroom received a B. S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia where he will continue his education in the graduate program of Mechanical Engineering.
After a wedding trip to St. Maarten, the couple will reside in Charlottesville.
