RRTA Invites
New Members
“The Rappahannock Retired Teachers Association welcomes anyone who has taught school and is interested in continuing community service to become a member,” said Mrs. W. H. Lyne, in reporting on the spring meeting of this group held on May 10.
The local organization is made up of retired Rappahannock teachers, as well as those who have moved here from other areas, and is involved in a number of community services in addition to being available to help in the schools whenever the need arises, she said.
There are two scheduled meetings a year of the group. One on the second Tuesday in May and the other the second Tuesday of September. Other annual meetings are on the district A and state levels. In addition to keeping up with friends, these meetings aid retired teachers In keeping informed on what is taking place to benefit foe 60 and over group of Americans.
The Rappahannock chapter hosted the District . meeting at the local ^elementary school in April with more than 75 retired teachers attending. ...... ;
