Nutrition, Mental Health
Rappahannock is in desperate need of a mental health program and people won’t realize until their own family has a mental health problem, interjected Mrs. Johnson.
Mrs. Buntin volunteered that she had really done the nutrition program for the elderly a disservice by including an appropriation for meals for the indigent in the Rappahannock public assistance budget She attributed the supervisors recent protest against the manner in which the program began in the county to this appropriation item. The nutrition program can get by with funding as it is now—“if they have to,” she added.
“It’s a good program. Don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t,’’ Mrs. Buntin continued. “And we have a need for this type of program in Rappahannock.”
