Jefferson, Jr., VBA President, underscoring the need for the conference stated, “The magnitude of this drought impels bankers and agricultural agencies to be prepared to implement the special programs resulting from recognition at the State and Federal level of severe weather-inflicted problems. At present 56 counties and 23 cities are eligible for special financial aid.”
