“Chapter Ten’s salary policies could become a problem in the future if the counties’ share of the Chapter Ten budget grows to cover raises that are higher than what the counties feel they can give their own employees,” watned Mcllvaine.
Lieberman assured the commissioners that all Chapter Ten salary policy is ultimately controlled by the funds made available from the member jurisdictions.
The commissioners voted unanimously to endorse the grant application for the comprehensive mental health program.

Director
Delores Dalton of Flint Hill has been appointed center director for Planning District 9 of the Valley of Virginia Consortium for Higher Education. The consortium will offer classes in education, science, banking and real estate during the fall semester at the Fauquier Technical Center.
Ms Dalton’s primary duty will be to provide leadership in assessing current needs in off-campus adult education courses and programs in PD 9, which also includes Culpeper, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.
She will work with colleges and universities in the area as well as with public officials and community groups.

In commenting on her appointment Dr. Grant Rush, Consortium administrator, said her background and experience make her well qualified for the position.
She holds a BS degree in biology-ehemistry from Lynchburg College and an MA in education from VPI&SU. A public school teacher for seven and a half years, she was active in the Fauquier Education Association, serving as its president, and held elected and staff positions with District N UniServe Unit in Warrenton.
