Wallace K. Sherertz, director of the Mountain View United Service Unit of the Virginia Education Association (VEA), last Thursday charged that area teachers are afraid to express grievances for fear of losing their jobs.
“I have never seen a more intimidated group of teachers, since I’ve been in the business, than those who teach in the seven surrounding counties,” said Sherertz, speaking to the Warrenton Rotary Club.
The seven counties which make up the Mountain View unit are Fauquier, Culpeper, Rappahannock, Warren, |r' Frederick, Clarke and Loudoun.
Rappahannock County Superintendent of Schools Dr. William Bloomer said Friday that he had no indication that teachers there feel intimidated.
