Barksdale suggested again that the Amissville residents talk to their Supervisor and find out if the Board was going to have a public hearing on the Planning Commission’s recommended rezoning.
Daytime Hearings Opposed
If the Supervisors hold a public hearing, interjected Bobby Carter, it will be during the day when “working men” wouldn’t be able to take time off to attend.
Mrs. Stuart commented that she hadn’t seen the Amissville Supervisor since the last election.
Capt. Stuart asked if the Planners would be bothered should dissatisfied village residents draw up a petition proposing that the village retain its current agricultural designation.
The Planners indicated that none of them felt strongly, one way or the other, about establishing boundaries for Amissville.
In another matter, the Planners decided to make no recommendation on a proposed Virginia Outdoors Plan that would possibly include scenic designation for a portion of the Thornton River between Sperryville and Monumental Mills and a section of Route 729 from Ben Venue and Flint Hill.
