Lyle W. Atkins was honored Saturday evening with a surprise birthday party and picnic supper given by his daughters at “Acorn Brook.” The occasion also marked the birthday of his daughter, Brenda. Attending were Mrs, Virgie Adams of Richardsville, Allen Tuel of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Gore, Keith, and Heather Dawn, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins, Misses Betty, Becky, and Brenda Atkins, Miss Peggy Pullen, Shelby Atkins, and Tommy Kendall.

Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston recently visited Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Carter in Front Royal.

Mrs. John Gaines and Stewart were Friday guests of Mrs. Jack Sanders in Gainesville.

Haywood Fincham and son Odell of Peola Mills were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Terry, Leslie III and Mitch.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier, Michele and Michael were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Meade in Culpeper. Sunday they visited Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins in Sperryville and with them,
