The Virginia Taxpayers Association (VTA) has released ratings for candidates for contested seats in the House of Delegates.
John J. “Butch” Davies, Democratic challenger in the 25th District, was ranked fair.
George Beard, the Republican candidate, was not named in the Association’s list. According to the release, omission indicates an “unsatisfactory or poor” rating.
Ratings are based on the candidate’s record as judged by taxpayer standards and an 18-item questionnaire sent by the VTA to all delegate candidates in July. Thirty candidates received “good” ratings and 34 received “fair”.
