“We contribute the success of our dams to: competent and thorough engineering investigations of proposed sites; designing each dam to the requirement of specific sites; our meticulous inspection program during construction; and possibly the most important factor, the operation and maintenance of the dams,” states Grimwood.
Before SCS agrees to construct a dam, the local people—project sponsors—must sign an agreement consenting to operate and maintain the structure for safety.
