Confusion On Specifics
After Baumgardner finished reading the correspondence in favor of the ski area reopening. Chairman Gardiner asked if Moore's proposal to install an Alpine slide included a farmers’ market with craft sales.
“I don’t see how anybody in the audience can comment pro or con without knowing what it is you’re asking for," Gardiner told Moore. “I'm not sure what it is really,” he added.
After the entire special use permit application was read. Moore maintained “as a practical matter, all of these things will . not be done immediately.”
Washington attorney Sharon Genebach, acting as Zoning Administrator in Evan McNear’s absence, raised a question as to the commercial zoning on Moore’s ski area property. According to Ms. Genebach. tax records indicate that only 20 acres out of Moore’s 300 acre tract are zoned commercial since only 20 acres have -been taxed at higher commercial rates.
Moore responded that the county zoning map shows all 300 acres as commercial. He said he’d objected to the “outrageous assessment” on 20 acres but didn't pursue the matter because of the
