Robert Miko, another Harris Hollow landowner, asked Moore for a schedule of operations.
The slide would run just on weekends until July 4, answered Moore. From then until Labor Day it would operate daily. After Labor Day, it would go back to a weekend schedule for as long as profitable.
Moore continued that the ski area would operate from December to the first or second weekend of March and would need approximately 950 skiers on weekends and 200 on weekdays to show a ‘‘modest profit.” He explained . that the traffic patterns of the ski and slide seasons would be different with skiers coming in early and leaving at about 3 p.m. and summer visitors dribbling in and out throughout the day.
Moore reported that his Rappahannock budget plans call for 150,000 slide rides from approximately 70,000 customers during the first summer.
Chairman Gardiner asked Moore if the slide was a permanent installation.
‘‘It can be moved,” Camelback’s president answered.
“It can be moved as easily as the roller coaster at Glen Echo was,” Langelle interjected.
