BZA members had heard three hours of testimony by the time Krebser took the stand, yet he was the first speaker to mention sewage disposal and water supplies for the expanded ski area operation.
He maintained that the sewage disposal system lay in a flood plain and questioned the adequacy of ground water supplies, particularly in view of “what happened last summer when our underground streams dried up.”
Krebser emphasized that the ski area would be in competition, paying S3 an hour wages, with local farmers for a limited labor supply. He questioned the financial benefit that the county would derive from the recreational facility without an amusement tax.
