Over 1,000 motorists have met their deaths this year on Virginia’s highways. With the last big holiday weekend of 1977 coming up, we’d like to remind Rappahannock drivers to exercise special cafe on Saturday night.
New Years Eve is traditionally a time for “boozing it up.” At big parties, at little parties, at private get-togethers and public shindigs, corks are popped and bottles opened. Social drinkers, and sometime, once-in-a-while-inbibers join regular drinkers in pulling out all the stoDS. It’s socially acceptable to get drunk on New Years Eve—“everybody” does it.
We’re not trying to change this tradition. But we’d like to join with the National Safety Council and repeat a warning that most people now know by heart—if you drink, don’t drive.
