Eveline Shipley of Woodbine, Md. was the matron of honor. Her long gown was of blue velvet designed with an empire waistline and tie jacket. She carried a bouquet of mums, carnations and roses.
The maid of honor was Suzanne Rill of Lineboro, the bride’s niece, who made all of the attendants dresses. Bridesmaids were Terry Rill and Beth Rill, both nieces of the bride. All of the attendants were gowned in blue velvet like that of the matron of honor, and carried bouquets of carnations, roses and mums.
Best man was Frank Graves of Richmond, a friend of the bridegroom. Ushers were his brothers, Glenn Updike of Newsoms, Francis Updike of Culpeper and Lyle Updike of Omaha, Neb. Brian Updike, the bridegroom’s nephew, was ring bearer.
Suzanne Updike and Jennifer Updike, nieces of the bridegroom, were flower girls. They wore blue velvet dresses and carried. baskets of flowers.
