Last Thursday’s meeting of the Rappahannock Supervisors engendered little disagreement or discussion as the Board members breezed through a routine agenda.,/' However, things should be a little livelier at the February 2 session, when the Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Highway Department’s six-year secondary road plan. Supervisor Chairman E. P. Luke emphasized that the public hearing scheduled for February will not replace the annual road hearing to be held as usual during budget considerations. He added that Highway Department maps showing improvements planned for the next six years on county secondary roads are now available for public inspection in the Clerk’s office, office.
Moving from road improvements to capital improvements, Luke reminded his fellow Supervisors that the Board will be responsible for funding several projects in the near future. His list included:
—Construction of the new clerk’s office.
—Remodeling of the old Clerk’s office into two offices.
—Repairs and improvements in the Commonwealth Attorney’s office.
—Improvements in the courthouse electrical system.
—Energy conservation work in the courthouse, including additional attic insulation and storm windows.
