Why is it that a few strident and irresponsible voices result in a Board of Zoning Appeals’ decision that will be contrary to the best interest of the people of this county? 1 for one, feel that Rappahannock County needs some type of activity in order to make sure that our children will have a home here. The last thing we need in Rappahannock County is to convert our county into a home for retired people and only for retired people. Certainly, there is room for retired people in Rappahannock County. However, there must also be room for people who have lived here, worked here, and sweated for generations and who call this county their home.

I do not feel that being independently wealthy should be a requirement for living in this county. The ski area, to me, presents just the type of commercial activity this county wants. Why not give it a chance?
