Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fairfax returned to their home last Tuesday after spending a long New Year’s holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Fairfax in Williamsport, Md.

Visitors to Shenandoah National Park showed a decrease in December as compared to the previous year. In 1977 there were 66,200 visitors while in that month of 1976 the total was 70,200.

However, for the calendar year of 1977 the total visitors showed an increase of 12.5 per cent. The 1977 total is 3,055,000 while in 1976 the total was 2,714,400.

Weather statistics at Big Meadows show snowfall at 5 inches; precipitation at 3.19 inches; the maximum temperature 59 degrees; and the minimum minus 3 degrees.
