The Door?
To the editor:
1 have noted with interest from your news articles and letters to the editor that the opponents of the ski area are mostly the new residents of Rappahannock who seem to want to close the door to not only new activities, but to an old activity, skiing, that has been around for some time now in Rappahannock.
Haven’t the residents of Rappahannock, who have lived here many years and favor the broadening of the base of the ski operation, had a better opportunity to judge whether such an activity would be beneficial or not?
Perhaps the ones who oppose h can ski in the Alps or Rockies. Most of the youngsters in Rappahannock cannot afford that luxury.

To the editor:
These are some questions I would like to have answered by the applicants for the Special Use Permit to develop the ski area for yearround entertainment:
1. We have one stream in the county contaminated already and one industry (a dairy business) had to close down on account of this contamination. Why take the chance of contaminating another stream in Rappahannock?
