Williams was a top finisher for the R-MA contingent when he crossed the finish line in 40th place after having covered the seven-mile course in 48 minutes and 58 seconds. The race attracted 96 entries.
Ken Brady of Lynchburg College took first-place honors with a time of 38:05, one second better than runner-up Paul Webb of the Richmond Track and Field Club.
Williams, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Williams, was a tri-captain of the Randolph-Macon cross country team during the past season.
Lenten Services
Community Lenten services will be held Wednesday, February 22, at the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. A covered dish supper at 6:30 p.m. will precede the meeting.
