From all indications, 1977 will break all records in single home construction and existing (resale) home sales. Current statistics point to a record 3.4 million existing home sales for 1977 topping the old record (1972) of 3 million. New housing starts will reach the 1.4 million mark, passing 1972’s record of 1.3 million starts. However, there is still not an abundance of properties available as demand continues to more than keep up with supply.
