I assure you that, when I attended Flint Hill Elementary School and Washington High School, Rappahannock students didn’t perform above their ability, not even “insignificantly.” We were encouraged by pur teachers to “surpass yourselves," to “lift yourselves by your own bootstraps,” to “strive for the impossible,” etc. but somehow we just never were able to do more than we could do. How refreshing to learn that a break-through on this age old problem has been discovered by our educators in Rappahannock Countyl
Remarkably enough, this headline accurately summarizes the headlined news story, as is usual with the Rappahannock News. (You do not get involved in the newspaper “Comedy of Erros” described in your editorial in the same issue, do you?)
