Statistics from Shenandoah National Park show a sharp decline in visitors during January of this year, as compared to last. The decrease, 38.8 per cent stems primarily from inclement weather, snow and ice, and portions of Skyline Drive were closed 19 days during the month. January visitors this year were 29,400 while a year ago they totaled 48,100.
