Virginia farmers whose farms are, located in the areas of the state that were declared state drought disaster areas by the President this past summer may be eligible for some tax relief this year.
Commissioner S. Mason Carbaugh of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Commerce noted that the Internal Revenue Service has a special provision available for livestock producers who were forced to sell their cattle because of lack of feed during the summer.
