heart attack deaths have gone down by 30% since the 1960’s. But the fight has just begun.
We urge all Rappahannock residents to be generous with their life-saving money when a volunteer calls. Only broadly-based public financial support can give the Heart Association the help it needs in the fight to save the lives of the two persons who will die every moment this year from heart disease.
There are also other ways that the average Rappahannocker can cut down on the chances of becoming a cardiovascular statistic. According to the Heart Association, everyone can benefit by:
—not smoking cigarettes
—controlling high blood pressure
—eating food low in cholesterol and saturated fats
—exercising regularly and moderately
—maintaining a normal weight
The American Heart Association volunteers are fighting for your life. By following their advice and by giving generously during the February fund drive, you can help.
