Funeral services, for Abraham Phillip (A.P.) Updike, 77, of Washington, D.C., were conducted last Friday from the Ives Funeral Home in Alexandria with interment following in the Washington Masonic Cemetery, Washington, Va.

Mr. Updike died Monday, February 20, 1978 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

Born in Rappahannock County on December 4, 1901, he was the son of the late John Henry and Annie Kibler Updike. He had been a florist since retiring from the mercantile business several years ago.

His survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lucille Fox of

Cosden

Word has been received of the death of Gilbert Cosden of Dover. Del., on Sunday, February 19, 1978, in Dover. Funeral services were held there on the 21st.

Mr. Cosden was born in 1901. He was a Colonel in the military and was a former resident of Rappahannock County, living in Sperryville before returning to Delaware.
