NOW “HOG CHOLERA FREE”

A goal which has been called the greatest achievement in livestock health in history was reached last August with the qualification of the U. S. as free of hog cholera. The last case of hog cholera in the U. S. occurred in New Jersey on August 1, 1976. More than a year has passed since that date and that is considered sufficient time to indicate that the hog cholera virus no longer exists in the hog population of the country.
