DEL. RAYMOND GUEST (R-Front Royal) has made an unsuccessful bid to help out fox hunters.

Guest rose on the House floor to object to a bill changing some of Virginia’s hunting statutes because one provision would prohibit fox hunting in the snow. Guest, the leading champion of horsemen favoring parimutuel horse racing, lost the fox hunting battle.

THE PROPOSED merger of George Mason University with the International School of Law has won final legislative approval.

The legislation provides that George Mason University will incorporate the existing law school and all of its facilities into the university’s curriculum. The merger brings the first state funded law school to Northern Virginia.

THE HOUSE Finance Committee has approved a bill which would allow Virginians to pay their taxes by credit card.

The bill s sponsor. Sen. Joseph Canada (RVirginia Beach) said tax authorities believe citizens will be more likely to pay delinquent taxes if they can do so on credit.
