When the weather quit playing around and decided to get serious on Sunday with 14 inches of new snow, we were all played out, What else was there to do but give up to cabin fever?
We held out until early Monday morning. Even with the fever, we couldn’t face shoveling while the snow was still coming down. But by 8:30 a.m. Monday, I had the two healthy backs sweeping snow ofF the car and digging a path to the driveway while “irresistable force” nursed his injuries over a sink full of dirty dishes.
Winds hit the mountain at about 9:30 and drove us back inside. The entire family stood around the kitchen, bellowing defiance at the weather till I was sure we’d start an avalanche.
