Throughout the day on Monday they attacked the snow on 218 miles of secondary roads and further improved the main highways.
The work did not stop with nightfall. All through the second night the snow plows kept moving.
The equipment began to show the strain. Some trucks began to show engine trouble, worn parts in others showed the wear. Finally the grader broke down, and then a truck but the work did not stop there either. For sixty continuous hours they kept that equipment going.
There were many other instances of cooperation and hard work all over the county to help neighbors and restore normalcy. Our most grateful thanks, however, goes to our Highway Department.
