School, spent three weeks putting together materials and records accumulated during her seven years in 4-H programs. Her achievement book includes the national report form summarizing her 4-H activities plus an article that Judith wrote on what she’s done in 4-H.
The list is impressive. She served as secretary, vice-, president and historian for her Nelson County 4-H club. As a Nelson County 4-H’er, she helped organize and manage fond raising projects that included sales of baked goods and food at local craft fairs. She worked on a 30minute television broadcast for the local farm and home show featuring 4-H’ers in musical numbers, demonstrations and skits.
Judith is secretary for the new Rappahannock County 4-H home economics club, sponsored by Nancy Secrist and Maybelle Gilkey. Last fall, she attended a business management workshop in Culpeper a project related to consumer education. In addition to specific 4-H activities, her achievement record also includes membership in school groups and leadership in other areas of community serivce. Judith belongs to both the youth group and choir at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. Last summer, she helped out as junior counselor at the 4-H summer day camp. At RCHS, she’s involved with the drama club and annual staff and served as scorekeeper during girls basketball. An honor student, Judith is also enrolled in the special gifted and talented program at RCHS.
State judging of achievement records will take place this summer with winners in the national competition announced in the fall.
