—Rappahannock News Photo /Sarah Latham ABANDONED—The station wagon that Gene and Virginia Wood drove home Tuesday night sits on the bridge, its hood draped with pieces of asphalt washed up from the road by the flood waters. The couple abandoned the car after it stalled. Rescue workers surmise that the Woods were swept away by the swollen Thornton River as they tried to walk home. Their bodies were discovered Wednesday morning.
