OUTDOOR RUNS allow Carol Miller’s shepherds plenty of exercise. Running the kennel is a full-time job that Carol handles on top of her duties as Washington s post master. Pens are cleaned everyday and concrete runs washed with clorox. Periodically, gravel in the larger dog pens is taken up and the ground treated with salt to prevent parasite infestation. Dogs have to be fed, groomed and watered and the animals are all taken out into the yard at The Maples for daily romps. In addition, the shepherds take turns at favored status house pets.
