In Olympics
Two Rappahannock Cub Scouts from Pack 123 turned in star performances at the annual Shenrapawa District Cub Scout Olympics held Saturday, August 11 at Randolph-Macon Academy.
Tom Heffern, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heffern of Castleton, tied for first place in sit-ups in the nine-year-old division and also was the winner in pushups.
Lee Baines, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Ashton Baines of Washington, took second place for total points in the nine-year-old age group. Lee also was third among competitors from all age groups in total points and was awarded an Olympic Medal for his efforts.
