Speeding arrests were up 32 percent through July over a similar period last year and, according to the Virginia State Police, Labor Day weekend arrests may push this percentage even higher.
State Troopers will be once again participating in Operation C. A. R. E. — an acronym for Combined Accident Reduction Effort—with 15 other states from Maine to Florida. Virginia's part in the program involves an increased number of troopers patrolling the State’s interstate highway system.
