On August 27, 1979, approximately 71 children will begin school in Rappahannock County. This is a big step in the life of a child. Mental health professionals view it as a turning point.
It marks the child’s first major separation from the secure and familiar world of home and family and marks his-her entrance into a new universe of friendship, learning and adventure—a world that parents can never again fully share.
