The Administrative Board of the United Methodist Church met Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Julian Brown. Attending were the Rev. Peter Weems, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Nethers, Mrs. Catherine Brown, Mrs. Jimmy Wayland, Mrs. Virginia Lewis, Mrs. Lee Swindler, Mrs. Ranny Aylor, Mrs. Nina« B. Brown and Hugh Chrisman.

Mrs. C. R. Powell of Kilmarnock and Mrs. Lucy Magruder of White Stone were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyne.

Saturday evening dinner guests of Mrs. Mary Quaintance at the Teepee were Mr. and Mrs. George Bain of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Sutherland, Mrs. Frances Tabler, Kathy Jenkins, Mrs. Carroll Quaintance and Mrs. R. E. Thompsen.

For the coming calendar year the Amissville Ruritan Club elected a new official board at last Wednesday’s meeting. Lewis (Butch) Zindel was elected president; Jerry Curtis, vice president; Charles Mills, treasurer and Fred Naramore, secretary. Gilbert Lawrence will be the three-year director.

Special guests at the meeting included Douglas Baumgardner and Peter Luke, both candidates for Rappahannock Commonwealth Attorney in the coming election. The district governor of the Ruritans was also present, speaking briefly concerning the community projects of Ruritan National.

A twenty-five dollar contributions was voted to Col. Nels Parson in reply to his recent appeal for the charitable organization FISH, which he heads.—H. R. Terhune
