Skills objectives are organized into five categories which parallel the grading procedure: organization and ideas, sentence structure, usage, word choice and mechanics.
In the post-writing process the first, good readable draft is ready for polishing or editing. Using check lists which contain the composing objectives, students are required to participate in editing.
This process engages students in their own proofreading and revisions as well as assisting others.
