Wyne, a ^eofistiiibtion worker and Vietnam veteran who was convicted, in Fauquier in 1972 of shooting two men on Second St., Warrenton, with a 12-gauge shotgun, was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:19 a.m. Saturday at Fauquier Hospital. He had been shot at least twice in the chest.
Campbell, who suffered massive injuries to his upper thighs, was listed in serious but stable condition Wednesday morning at the hospital.
Investigating officer Lt. Warren Jenkins of the Fauquier Sheriffs Department said Monday that Dalton and an unidentified witness to the shooting have said that Wyne fired the first shot at Warden Caiffpbell in the melee latte Friday night.
