To the editor:
I appreciate your informative coverage of candidates’ qualifications and views. The interviews with Baumgardner and Luke (October 4) were helpful in explaining the role and functions of Commonwealth’s Attorney.
I was puzzled by the statement of Baumgardner that the Commonwealth Attorney should “...present his legal opinions after taking into consideration what I would call the Rappahannock perspective of looking at problems.”
Is this in fact a proper function of the Commonwealth’s Attorney? Is

To the editor: We sincerely appreciate the immediate response we had late Sunday night from the Washington Volunteer Fire Department and Roger Roach in answering a call to an electrical fire on a power pole in the vicinity of our home. We would also like to thank Potomac Edison Company for their quick service in restoring power under difficult conditions.
