"Luray is a palace of stones. Your stalactites and stalagmites are colorful. Most of ours are only white with just a little gray.”

Erich was well prepared for a visit inf the U.S. after studying English formally for seven years. "For me personally, language is the way to enter a foreign country,” said Erich, adding that it had taken him several weeks here to get used to the language and learn some of the idioms and slang not included in the standard text books.
He began his English studies in fifth grade when he transferred from elementary school to the gymnasium. As Erich explained it, his education was much more intensive than that of the average American teenager. In Germany, students with all levels of intellectual abilities attend school
