FORE also cooperates with other rehabilitative and social service agencies, arranging for social workers, mental health clinic psychologists or public health personnel to see trainees at the workshop if necessary. In addition, FORE works closely with the special education departments of the public school, providing training for the handicapped as they leave school.
Individual plans are prepared, for each client with a goal of helping the handicapped person to gain either outside employment or a job at the training center. “We’re trying to put them into the community as functioning and productive members,” said Huntly.
